Last year around this time, we were over-the-moon to share that a dozen new businesses had opened in downtown St. Johnsbury in 2021. Little did we know that 2022 would more than double that number! St. Johnsbury's transformation since the start of the pandemic has been profound. When we look at our town today, it's easy to see that a rural revival is taking place. Please help us welcome 2022's new businesses... all 29 of them! The new business that opened in downtown St. Johnsbury last year included a wide variety of retail shops, wellness & professional services, eateries, and a sewing makerspace:
Special mention must go to MSI Realty, whose renovation of the Calderwood Building at 33 - 67 Eastern Avenue resulted in 21 of the businesses above. Keep an eye on the 'Calderwood Collective' for great things to come!
Discover St. Johnsbury compiles new business statistics annually as part of our role as St. Johnsbury's designated downtown organization. It's worth noting that the new businesses listed here don't include home-based businesses, or those located outside of our downtown district, like Supa Spice Grab & Go Kitchen, The Green Man, the dozen new practitioners working out of the Heartspace Healing Collective at 515 Bay Street, and more...
