Who We Are |
Since 2002, Discover St. Johnsbury (previously known as the St. Johnsbury Chamber of Commerce) has stimulated and promoted the vitality of St. Johnsbury’s cultural, commercial, and community resources through regional marketing, producing community events, support for local businesses, and other economic development activities. The organization combines the economic and commercial goals of a business alliance with the structure of a Designated Downtown organization.
We are based in St. Johnsbury’s historic Welcome Center. Come visit! Our trained ambassadors make sure that visitors receive a warm and informed message about where to stay, eat, shop, and play.
A Director staffs Discover St. Johnsbury. The Director works with the Board of Directors, Committees, community partners, and a network of volunteers to carry out our mission. We work closely with the Town of St. Johnsbury, but operate as a separate non-profit organization. We’re continually working behind-the-scenes to build stronger connections between the Town Offices, Select Board, and our business community.

Downtown DesignationWe are the Designated Downtown organization for St. Johnsbury. Administered through the Vermont Agency of Commerce & Community Development, the Downtown Program helps support community revitalization while preserving the historic character and enhance the future of medium to large-sized historic centers.

Board & CommitteesOur Board of Directors and standing committees oversee the work of the organization. Committees also involve volunteers from the local community that are committed to making St. Johnsbury a great place to visit and a lasting place to live, and we welcome interested parties to contact us about participation.
