Kingdom Maple FestivalSt. Johnsbury — known as the Maple Center of the World — celebrates the history and heritage of the maple syrup industry with its Kingdom Maple Festival during sugaring season. New in 2023, Discover St. Johnsbury will assume production of the festival from a group of community volunteers. Save the date for sweet treats and activities on Saturday, April 22, 2023!

PoemTown St. JohnsburyPoetry fills downtown St. Johnsbury in April as the town celebrates National Poetry Month. Hundreds of community-submitted poems are posted throughout downtown St. Johnsbury during the month of April. Poems are posted on Railroad Street, Eastern Avenue, and Main Street.
St. J Art on the StreetEvery season, local artists' work is displayed in St. Johnsbury storefronts, turning all of downtown into a huge art gallery!

Pet ParadeSince 1949, the Pet Parade has been a signature springtime celebration. People of all ages and pets of all kinds - dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, snakes, lizards, horses and even a camel - come to St. Johnsbury dressed up and ready to parade down beautiful Main Street. This year's theme is 'Our Pets, Our Heroes'. On Saturday, June 10, 2023 join the the St. Johnsbury Pet Parade Committee to enjoy the food, fun activities, maybe win a prize, and celebrate the fury, feathery, scaly heroes among us!

Festival of Traditional CraftsEach September, the St. Johnsbury History & Heritage Center hosts a free festival with presentations and demonstrations of traditional colonial and 19th Century crafts. Visit the Center to see demonstrations of spring pole lathes, spinning, candle dipping, apple butter making, blacksmithing, traditional toys and games, blacksmithing, a model saw mill, natural dyeing, and more.
Halloween ParadeSt. Johnsbury's spookiest night, with ghosts and goblins flying through the trees. Main Street shuts down car traffic so thousands of kids can parade in their costumes, then enjoy safe trick-or-treating.

Colors of the KingdomPresented by the Northeast Kingdom Chamber of Commerce, the fall festival in downtown St. Johnsbury celebrates the beauty of Vermont's changing scenery. Scenic old-fashioned train rides, Farmers’ Market, vendor fair, outdoor bluegrass festival, and a parade add to the fun! UNFORTUNATELY, THE FESTIVAL HAS BEEN CANCELLED IN 2022, TO RETURN IN 2023.

Homecoming Parade and GameMain Street hosts the Homecoming parade for St. Johnsbury Academy, the night before the Big Game between the Academy and rival Lyndon Institute. It's the second-oldest high school football rivalry in the U.S.
William Eddy Lecture SeriesPresented by the Fairbanks Museum, the William Eddy Lecture Series challenges the ways we think about our place in the world by bringing nationally-known speakers to Vermont.
