Many restaurants in St. J feature Vermont's favorite ingredient 365 days a year. But, during the Kingdom Maple Festival's Maple Menu Takeover, we've challenged our local restaurants to take it up a notch and highlight locally-produced maple syrup on their menus all weekend long. Special Menu Items Only for Maple Fest:The Campfire typically has oodles of maple-forward menu items using Sugar Bob's Finest Kind (Chester, Vermont). For Maple Fest they'll be setting up a booth outdoors to serve Smoked Maple Chili, Fresh Squeezed Maple Lemonade, and other beverages. Open Thursday & Friday 11:30am - 6pm, and Saturday, 10am - 3pm. 418 Railroad St. Wandering Vine will be open during Maple Fest, serving a special Maple Boba Tea. Open Saturday during Maple Fest, 10am - 3pm. 378 Railroad St. Yummies @ The Star will have THREE maple flavors of Vermont-made Wilcox Ice Cream (maple walnut, maple creme, and maple fudge) available all weekend, plus Maple Fest specials including Maple Creemees, the Maple Cookie Sundae, and Maple Bacon Burger. Open Tuesday through Sunday, 11:30am - 9pm. 17 Eastern Ave. St. Johnsbury Country Store has a great selection of local maple products, including syrup, from several local producers. On the day of the festival, the Deli will feature a Maple-Glazed Ham & Swiss Panini with thick-cut maple-glazed ham and Swiss cheese and a smear of Maple mustard pressed on sourdough. Store hours on Saturday and Sunday are 9am-5pm; Deli is open 9am-2pm. Weekday store hours are 7am-6pm, with the deli open 7am-2pm. 537 Railroad Street Eastern & Main Market and Deli will be making Maple Cinnamon Rolls specially for the festival, in addition to their full-service deli sandwiches. Open daily, until 8pm. 1194 Main St. Just outside of town, the 24 Carrot restaurant at the Rabbit Hill Inn will feature a special Maple Festival Brunch between 10am - 1pm. Their menu includes multiple courses, including Maple Pastries, choice of Maple Biscuit Eggs Benedict or Maple Buttermilk Pancakes, choice of two breakfast sides, and optional signature maple cocktails. $39 per adult, $19 per child. Available All Weekend:The Buttery Kitchen & Pantry is curating a special menu only for Friday through Sunday during Maple Fest weekend, April 18 - 20th. Brunch, served until 3:30pm, will include Quebecoise Maple Pudding with Super Secret Maple Ice Cream, and Chicken & Waffles topped with Deep Mountain Maple Syrup (West Glover, Vermont). At both brunch & dinner you'll find a Maple Affogato on the menu, once again featuring Super Secret Maple Ice Cream and Mother Moon Espresso. Open Daily, 8am - 9pm, 379 Railroad St.
St. Johnsbury Distillery showcases maple in multiple formats most of the year, but especially during Maple Fest weekend.
Boule is offering several special items made with their family's own maple from LaLiberte Family Sugarhouse (165 Maple Ridge Road, West Charleston, Vermont). Get their early to grab an enticing Maple Almond Bun or Maple Cupcake. Plus, they can add syrup to any espresso drink you like. Open daily, 7am - 5pm. 462 Railroad St. The Kitchen Counter Cafe's soft serve machine is humming, and they'll be offering Maple Creemees all weekend (or until they run out!) Keep an eye out for specials on homemade Pancakes topped with local syrup from Mooreland Farm (Peacham, Vermont), Maple Milkshakes, and their delicious Maple Bacon Cheeseburger served with fries. Open Thursday thru Tuesday 8am - 3pm (Closed Wednesdays). 378 Railroad St. Whirligig Brewing & Bistro's house-smoked meats are all slathered in their popular Miso Honey Maple BBQ Sauce made with syrup from Chandler Hill Farm (Peacham, Vermont). Sample a beer brewed in-house, or a have a NA Maple Seltzer made with a generous dose of syrup. Stop by during Maple Fest weekend to get your fill before they close for a month-long renovation project! Open Sunday & Monday, 11am - 3pm, Thursday through Saturday 11am - 8pm. 397 Railroad St. Papa Tirozzi's delicious Vermonter Pizza with maple drizzle is always on the menu, but for the weekend they'll be serving Maple Milkshakes, Maple Bacon Donuts, and Maple Bacon Sandwiches as well all weekend. Open Tuesday thru Saturday from 11am - 7pm. 2165 Portland St. 98 Mill Italian Pub and Grill uses Kirby Mountain Maple Syrup (Kirby, Vermont) on their menu regularly, including in their popular Maple Ginger Wings and Italian Poutine with Maple Demi-Glace and Italian sausage crumbles. Open Thursday 4-8pm, Friday and Saturday noon-10pm, Sunday noon-8pm, and Monday 4-8pm. 98 Mill Street. Anthony's Diner has all of the classic diner breakfast items that you can dream of, designed to be slathered in syrup from Maple Grove Farms of Vermont (St. Johnsbury, Vermont). Make sure to save room for their Maple Milkshake and Maple Cream Pie. Open Thursday & Friday from 8am - 8pm, Saturday thru Monday 8am - 3pm. (Closed Tuesdays). 321 Railroad St. Locally Social can add real maple from the Goodwin Family Maple (St. Johnsbury, Vermont) to make any beverage a celebration of the season, including their Maple Cold-Brewed Iced Coffee, or add maple to any espresso week.
