ST. JOHNSBURY TRAIL CONSTRUCTION updates

In July 2024, a section of the LVRT located in St. Johnsbury was washed out by catastrophic flooding. Although full repairs are not scheduled to be completed until early spring 2026, the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail is BACK OPEN (as of December 2025), with some sections containing a steeper grade than normal.

- Trailhead Pavilion (195 Bay Street) - unlit, no winter maintenance
- St. Johnsbury Park & Ride (100 US Rt 2 West) - lit, overnight parking available
- Downtown St. Johnsbury:
- Free day parking is available in the municipal parking lot at Pearl Street & Eastern Avenue, with easy access to the St. Johnsbury Welcome Center and the Trailhead Pavilion.

Bike shuttles and guide services

RCT - U.S. 2 Commuter
Rural Community Transit's FREE U.S. 2 Commuter shuttle bus departs from the St. Johnsbury Welcome Center every weekday at 6:05am, 2:40pm, and 3:45pm, bound for stops including the West Danville Park & Ride. This is a great drop-in shuttle to connect you with downtown lodging and restaurants, although note that the bike rack has very limited capacity. Calling RCT to confirm details is recommended: (802) 748-8170. Please note that this shuttle services does NOT run on the weekends. |

Lamoille Valley Bike Tours - Bike Shuttle & Tours
Lamoille Valley Bike Tours, located in Morrisville, has a wealth of information as well as guided and self-guided tour services for LVRT users. Their bike shuttle (ADVANCE BOOKING REQUIRED) departs from the U.S. 2 St. Johnsbury Park & Ride on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Prices start at $25/person. |
Winter Snowmobile Information
